ANDY BIERSACK On BLACK VEIL BRIDES: 'This Is The First Time In Years That I Feel Like I Don't Know What's Gonna Come Next'
April 9, 2019In a brand new interview with NME, BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack was asked about the band's plans for the coming months. He responded (see video below): "I've been pretty open with the fact that we do have strong plans to do something cool for the 10-year anniversary of [BLACK VEIL BRIDES' debut album] 'We Stitch These Wounds'. I think at this point, the plan is to kind of do a reimagining of the record. We've gotten started on it to a certain point, and we're self-producing — Jake's [Pitts, guitar] gonna produce the record. It's been fun to re-examine those songs 10 years later."
Biersack went on to say that he doesn't know direction BLACK VEIL BRIDES will take with its next studio album. "For the longest time, there was a trajectory where I had set up the story with 'Wretched And Divine' and then we kind of did the more hard rock-oriented record with [producer] Bob Rock, and then we kind of re-entered the 'Wretched And Divine' story," he explained. "And it was always like… there was predetermined elements to what the band was gonna be. And this is the first time, really, probably in years that I feel like I don't know what's gonna come next. I have ideas — I always think about what's gonna happen — but nothing's decided on. And I think it's gonna be a really exciting period for the band, because we were on the same label for years and years, and that's now changed. And it's a new situation."
Andy added: "I don't know what the next chapter is. And I don't know how the other guys are feeling about different things. We've got an opportunity now to kind of do what we're doing, and each of us are focusing on different projects. And we'll regroup and see where it goes."
"We Stitch These Wounds" was issued in July 2010 via StandBy Records and was BLACK VEIL BRIDES' only studio album to feature drummer Sandra Alvarenga before she left the band and joined MODERN DAY ESCAPE.
BLACK VEIL BRIDES' last album, "Vale" came out in January 2018 via Lava/Universal Republic. The follow-up to BLACK VEIL BRIDES' 2014 self-titled effort was produced by John Feldmann at his Southern California studio.
Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Black) will release his sophomore album, "The Ghost Of Ohio", on April 12 via Lava/Republic.
